Man killed in boating accident
A man died after a boat hit rocks off the West End in the early hours of yesterday.
Officers were alerted after one of the three people on board knocked on the door of seniors home Lefroy House in Sandys at about 4.40am and asked for medical help.
A police spokesman said: “One of the males was unresponsive and subsequently taken to the hospital via ambulance where he later was pronounced dead.
“The other two individuals did not appear to have any life-threatening injuries.”
Police said the three had earlier put to sea in an 18ft boat.
No details of the man who died will be released until next of kin are informed.
