Man robbed at Music Festival
Two men accosted a 49-year-old man in the bathroom at the Bermuda Music Festival, stealing the man's iPod.
A Police spokesperson said that the robbery was reported at 10.50 p.m. on Saturday.
"Officers attended the scene a short time later and spoke with the victim, who stated that he was using the bathroom facilities at the Maritime Museum when he was accosted by two unknown men."
The robbers took the victims iPod Touch, but the device was later found by a member of the public.
A 22-year-old Pembroke man and a 24-year-old Southampton man were both arrested in connection to the incident.
Gas station employees thwart robbery
Two men who attempted to rob a Sandys parish gas station on Friday left empty-handed after they were confronted by employees. A Police spokesman said that at around 10.30 p.m., two men, one wielding a bladed article, entered Robinson's Shell Marine and demanded money.
"The employees working at the time confronted the two would-be robbers, who ended up making good their escape empty-handed," the spokesman said.
The suspects are described as dark skinned men, one wearing all black clothing and a black helmet, the other wearing a light brown jacket, dark coloured pants and a helmet.
Arrests made after fighting outside club
Three people were arrested outside a nightclub after a fight broke out in front of Police officers early Sunday morning.
A Police spokesperson said officers were outside LV's on Bermudiana Road speaking with a man at around 2.10 a.m.
However the conversation was cut short when a second man started a scuffle with the person Police were speaking with.
"As there was a crowd of Halloween revellers in the immediate vicinity, additional units were called to the scene," said the spokesman. "The situation was quickly brought under control and three individuals, two men and a woman, were arrested."
Cyclist crashes during Police chase
A man racing away from Police crashed his cycle and was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired. After his arrest, Police said incapacitant spray had to be used because he was acting "belligerent."
According to a Police spokesman, officers were on patrol on East Broadway early Thursday morning when they saw three cycles speeding out of Hamilton.
The officers chased the cycles with their lights and sirens on, but the cycles refused to pull over.
The spokesman said: "Two cycles turned left onto Point Finger Road and made good their escape, while the other cycle continued northerly, nearly colliding with the north round-a-bout.
"He then turned onto Trimingham Hill, where the rider struck the nearside curb and lost control of his cycle."
Officers dealing with the man, noticing that his voice was slurred and he smelled of alcohol, arrested him under suspicion of driving while impaired.
At the Hamilton Police Station, the man refused to take a breathalyzer test, and then allegedly began causing trouble in the jail area.
The Police spokesman said: "The suspect became belligerent in the jail area and an incapacitant spray was used to bring the suspect under control."
Traffic lights off at Church, Burnaby Streets junction
The Corporation of Hamilton yesterday warned drivers that the traffic lights at the corner of Church and Burnaby Streets will be out for about a week.
A Corporation spokesperson said that a line was severed while new asphalt was being laid in the area.
Because of the lack of traffic lights, drivers are asked to be cautious when driving through the intersection, and to be aware of pedestrians trying to cross the road.
