Warehouse fall man remains in critical condition

By Chris Spencer

A warehouse worker injured after he fell eight feet in an industrial accident, was yesterday listed as being in a "critical but stable condition."

The 49-year-old Smith's Parish man sustained serious head injuries after he lost his footing while working on a lift.

The accident happened at a furniture warehouse in Paget around 5 p.m.

"He is a great guy," said a co-worker who first happened upon the accident scene and called 911.

"He is always easy going and nothing ever seems to bother him. He is a hard worker and just gets on with the job.

"If I wasn't here, I don't know what would have happened. He wasn't in good shape, he could have died. We are hoping for the best."

According to a statement released by Police, the Government Health and Safety officer was informed of the accident and inquiries are underway.
