Breaking News: Zane DeSilva becomes Minister without Portfolio

Zane DeSilva was this afternoon sworn in as Government’s new Minister without Portfolio.

In a brief ceremony at Government House, the Southampton East Central MP was praised by Premier Ewart Brown for his hard work and energy since being elected for the Progressive Labour Party at the December 2007 General Election.

“I’m looking forward with huge enthusiasm to working with a great team,” Mr. DeSilva told the audience.

He brings the total of Dr. Brown’s Cabinet up to 11, following a summer of upheaval involving several high-profile departures and arrivals in the Premier’s team.
