Allen takes honours in 5K




Island Games runner Stephen Allen won the Butterfield & Vallis 5K yesterday in a time of 17.32 beating out Tony Banks (17.48) and Shawn Herman (17.49).


Over 350 runners of all ages turned out for the popular annual event as well as 92 walkers.

The first woman yesterday was top runner Victoria Fiddick who also finished ninth overall in a time of 18.39.Winning the 12 and Under Boys title over a 1.6 mile course was Jahari Sutton in a time of 10.14.

Second was Diondre Dowling in a time of 10.36 while third place went to James Finnigan in a time of 10.55. Zakiyyah Showers won the 12 and Under Girls title over the same 1.6 mile course in a time of 10.06 with second place going to Quaashie Douglas in 10.29 while Jordan Bascome was third in 10.50.
