Home » News » Focus: Gang Murders

Over the next three months, we'll be looking closely at the fatal shootings since May 2009 which detectives have yet to solve, as well as a host of issues surrounding the Island's gun violence crisis.

We want to speak to anyone affected by the gang killings who has yet to see justice done. If you'd like to share your story, call senior reporter Sam Strangeways on 278-0155 or email sstrangeways@royalgazette.bm

If you can help Bermuda Police Service solve any of the crimes featured in our series, then please call either the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1340 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.

You can also provide anonymous tips via the Crime Stoppers Bermuda website at www.crimestoppers.bm.

If you provide information through Crime Stoppers you will never be asked to reveal your identity and will never have to disclose your name or any other personal details, even if your tip leads to a cash reward.

If you are willing to give evidence in court but fear for your own or your family's safety, police can help. Bermuda now has a Justice Protection Programme which can provide overseas relocation to witnesses in need of protection from an identified threat.

Other measures to ensure safety can be provided by Bermuda Police Service and the Island has a Witness Care Unit, run by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, for anyone giving evidence in a criminal trial.

For details of these schemes, call the DPP's office on 296-1277 or Bermuda Police Service on 295-0011.
