Run for Freedom event poster designer is given a thank you

Young artist Karthika Chelvam has won praise for producing the poster which promoted this year's Run For Freedom in Bermuda and London.
The image designed by Karthika went up on streets here and in the UK to raise awareness about the plight of millions of men, women and children across the world who are trafficked into slavery.
As a thank you, she was presented with a certificate by Bermuda's Run For Freedom organiser Erica Rance-Cariah at Barr's Park, a venue picked because it was where 78 slaves landed aboard the US ship The Enterprise in 1835, sparking great efforts by Bermudians to free them.
Ms Rance-Cariah said: "On behalf of Run For Freedom I would like to thank Karthika for taking the time to submit such an inspiring and thought provoking poster.
"The goal of Run For Freedom is to raise awareness of people trafficking and to raise funds through online donations which are passed on to anti people-trafficking coalitions Stop the Traffik and Anti Slavery International."
Ms Rance-Cariah added: "We are encouraging all young people to form clubs within their schools to become part of a new global campaign called 'Start Freedom to Stop the Traffik'."
She said young people can sign up online at http://www.stopthetraffik.org/startfreedom, with the campaign officially launching on October 14 with a live broadcast from United Nations HQ in New York.
Next year's Run For Freedom will take place on March 21, with a run scheduled to take place in London simultaneously. The group will be having another poster competition, with more details to follow in the coming months.
