The International Cricket Council Americas region is hosting a nine-week introductory online curators course, open to local groundsmen.

Starting next Saturday at 1pm and continuing every Saturday for one hour, participants will focus on turf ground, with a view to constructing turf pitches in the near future.

Led by the ICC’s pitch consultant, Andy Atkinson, participants who complete the course will be invited at a later date to participate in Level 1.

Lloyd Smith, the BCB president, said: “Through our excellent relations with ICC Americas, the BCB is pleased to have the curator course made available to our clubs and other interested persons.

“The course will aid in the improved preparations of our turf wickets. We can highlight the success story of our previous attendees, Allan Douglas and Calvin Richardson, who completed their course work and were able to provide their services to the BCB, in conjunction with the groundstaff at Somerset Bridge Recreation Club. Their expertise enabled the BCB to host and facilitate a first class ICC Americas T20 Regional Qualifying tournament in 2019.”

Persons interested in participatingin the introductory course should call the Bermuda Cricket Board on 292-8958 or e-mail info@cricket.bm to register. Spaces are limited.
