Police call for witnesses to Boaz Island stabbing

The Bermuda Police Service have urged anyone with information about a stabbing that took place on Sunday to come forward.

A police spokesman said that officers are investigating the incident, which is believed to have taken place in the area of Boaz Island, Sandys, at about 8.50pm.

The spokesman said: “Responding officers observed a motorcycle with an injured passenger and followed the vehicle to Port Royal Fire Station, where the victim, a 22-year-old male, was placed in an ambulance and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening stab wounds.

“Neither the victim nor the individuals who took him to Port Royal Fire Station were forthcoming with any information pertaining to how he sustained his injuries.

“Police searched the Boaz Island area and recovered evidence believed to be connected to this incident, from the parking area of Woody’s Bar.”

The spokesman urged anyone with information to contact Detective Inspector Tiffany Caisey of the Criminal Investigations Unit on 247-1744 or 247-1072, or e-mail tcaisey@bps.bm.
