Young riders complete hat-trick of titles

The Bermuda CEA Children’s Dressage team have, for the third year in a row, captured first place in the CEA Dressage Challenge, in Barbados.

The winning team consisted of Kayla Bardgett riding Causing Chaos, Maya DaSilviera riding Just Pete and Tyler James riding Happy Feet.

Meanwhile, there was also joy for Bermuda’s adult team of, Angela Halloran-Smith riding Finnomenal AV, Virginia McKey riding Matinee and Abby Bardgett riding Cruise Control, as they sealed a second-place finish at the competition.

Riders competing the CEA competition were ranked both individually and by country team.

In addition to the commendable achievements of the Bermuda teams, Kayla Bardgett, Kelsey Amos, Robin Stempel, Abby Bardgett, McKey and Halloran-Smith also achieved the overall highest individual score for their respective test categories.

This year’s competition was judged by Canadian FEI 4* judge Brenda Minor, who travelled to all competing countries to judge at each event, enabling riders to compete without having to travel overseas. This year’s other competing countries were Barbados, Cayman Islands and Trinidad and Tobago.
