Biltir appoints Hovi to board

Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers has appointed Kevin Hovi to its board of directors.

Mr Hovi is chief financial officer of Kuvare Life Re Ltd. Prior to his role at Kuvare Life Re, he was CFO at Longitude Re. He previously worked at XL Catlin, most-recently as senior vice-president, senior portfolio manager.

“I’m excited to represent Kuvare among such a strong group of senior life industry professionals on the Biltir board and look forward to supporting the continued growth of the Bermuda life insurance and reinsurance sector,” Mr Hovi said.

“Kevin’s financial markets background and Bermuda insurance experience will serve as a valuable asset to the Biltir Board,” said Biltir Chair Sylvia Oliveira. “He has been a solid contributor on various Biltir committees over the years. We look forward to working with Kevin on the challenges and opportunities currently facing Bermuda’s life re/insurance sector.”

Biltir represents 65 long-term insurance, reinsurance and servicing companies in Bermuda who provide life and annuity products and employ 725 people on the island.
