New look, new focus on tech
With big advancements in the technology world increasing at a rapid rate,
The Royal Gazette is today launching a revitalised technology section.
Swapping its ‘Personal Technology’ title for that of a simpler and snappier ‘Tech Today’, our aim is to be reflective of the latest developments in this fast-paced and exciting sector, as well as giving it a more local perspective.
Hitting the ground running in the first edition, we will consider what to look for when buying a new phone, review the brand new iPad2, hear about how Apple is taking over the life of one of our new host of guest columnists Michael Branco and go through our mailbag of readers letters and answer their questions.
Another new feature will be our tech tip of the week and educational column, sponsored this month by the Bermuda Telephone Company.
We have some hot topics coming up in the next few weeks and months including a look at which Internet and cell phone services on Island offer the best coverage and value for money, the iPhone versus BlackBerry debate, laptops versus tablets, the social media phenomenon (including Facebook and Twitter), the best operating systems and apps, cable television and the alternatives, music, videos and gaming.
Along the way we will be doing product reviews of BlackBerrys, iPods, iPhones, HP TouchPad, tablets, netbooks, laptops, ereaders, Wiis, Playstations, digital radios and televisions, in addition to programmes and other fun gadgets.
There will also be a monthly calender of events Island-wide.
But above all we want to make this a truly interactive experience and to get your ideas and feedback, so we can focus on what interests you.
