9 Beaches being featured in major media outlets

A casual cabana-style resort is gracing the pages of some of the most prestigious travel magazines.

The beachside bungalows of 9 Beaches currently feature on the cover of Islands Magazine, while the eco-friendly resort was also highlighted as a Bermuda getaway on the NBC morning news programme, The Today Show.

According to the Sandys hotel's general manager Robin Gilbert, 9 Beaches is fast becoming the Island's "Cover Girl". Last month its stilted ocean view cabanas featured on the cover of The Boston Globe's Sunday Travel Magazine, while this year 9 Beaches has also appeared on the front of Travel+Leisure Family and Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel Magazine.

"All this media coverage and our ultra-casual message are attracting more relaxed beach lovers and outdoorsy travellers," said Mr. Gilbert. "At the same time the 9 Beaches guest experience and satisfaction have increased tremendously."

Based on reviews on traveller website TripAdvisor, 9 Beaches is now ranked the fifth most popular hotel in Bermuda.

The resort bucked the trend for fewer tourists this year by reporting record occupancy rates and revenue in September.

Mr. Gilbert said: "Thanks goes to the 9 Beaches staff for taking such good care of each guest. It also goes to Bermuda's taxi drivers for helping spread the word that 9 Beaches is a great place for nature lovers and beachgoers."

All of the resort's 84 soft-sided cabanas sit on stilts, with views over the Atlantic. Endemic flora and fauna thrives in the grounds, while solar panels also cut down on the need for traditional fossil-fuel energy.

Nine Beaches prides itself on its 'no jacket required' casual approach and offers a variety of watersports and entertainment.

In addition to becoming Bermuda's "Cover Girl", Mr. Gilbert said 9 Beaches was also proving popular with locals wanting to enjoy dinner at Hi Tide restaurant and to take advantage of preferred cabana rates. For more information on the resort, visit www.9Beaches.com or call 232 6655.
