Bermuda's 9 Beaches resort has begun offering "Eco-Chic Weddings", a Green package for couples desirous of environmentally-friendly nuptials.

The package, which starts at $9,140 for 40 guests, includes six bottles of organic champagne, a tiered organic wedding cake, organic flower arrangements and sustainable centrepieces made with harvested sea shells and clean-burning soy candles.

The "Eco-Chic" event is capped with the couple's planting of a Bermuda Cedar at the resort, complete with a permanent personalised plaque to mark the occasion.

Couples may also opt for vegetarian or vegan catering.

9 Beaches was also rated as number one in Coastal Living Magazine's '10 Best Coastal Eco-Resorts' in their April 2009 issue.

The magazine cited the over water cabanas, that let you look down on the fish, and the ocean breezes that negate the need for air-conditioning when rating the Bermuda resort 'eco-credentials'.
