Man faces HIV assault case

A 44-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault after allegedly having sex with someone and not saying he was HIV positive.

The man cannot be identified for legal reasons.

He was not required to enter a plea in Magistrates' Court on Thursday as the case is indictable and will have to be heard in Supreme Court.

According to the charges, the incident took place between April 1 and June 30.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released the man on $5,000 bail with one surety. He is expected to appear again for mention on November 19.
