Meet the new inductees

Long-serving BPWA member Mrs. Amencia Outerbridge had the honour of profiling the record 15 new members inducted at the gala anniversary dinner. Representing an impressive combination of academic achievements and span a wide range of careers, they are:SHANNAH BUTTERFIELD, BA, MA, is a Bermuda College-Mount St. Vincent University and Webster University graduate. She is currently employed as a Government Human Resources Officer in recruitment and selection. With a desire to give back to her community, she serves as a mentor volunteer for Big Brothers and Sisters, homework tutor at the Sunshine League and a World Vision Sponsor.KIMBERLEY D. CAINES, who was called to the Bar of England and Wales last year, is currently undertaking a pupilage with a Bermuda law firm preparing for a call to the Bermuda Bar this year. She holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Western Ontario and LLB from City Law School in London. With a desire to serve the community she sits on several boards including Bermuda’s Emerging Professionals, Devonshire Parish Council, Law Students’ Association; the Women’s Council and The First Church of God.VALERIE CHEAPE, SRN, RSCN, a qualified nurse and midwife for over 20 years, works as a Clinical Nurse Case Manager for the Ministry of Health Her mother, the late Sally Cheape, was a founding member of BPWA.TIFFANY FARIES is an LLB. graduate of Brock University; the University of Kent, England; receiving a Post-graduate Diploma from the College of Law. Bloomsbury, England last year.KELLY GREEN, Irish-born wife of Michael Green and mother of two, is Senior Manager of Assurance at PricewaterhouseCoopers, having joined the firm in 2005. She holds a BA (Accounting and Finance ) from Dublin City University; Associate in Captive Insurance and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland.KATIE LOVELL is an Underwriting assistant at Montpelier re-insurance. She holds an Associate Degree in Business Travel and Tourism, Holland College, Prince Edward Island; a French Immersion Diploma from University St. Anne, Nova Scotia. She is the proud wife of Jamie Lovell and mother of three-year-old Kyah.CHERII MINORS, a Bermuda College graduate, has a Post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with Distinction from the College of Law, Manchester, England; and LL.B, Law, Upper Class from University of Kent and a BA in History from Dalhousie University.SUSAN MOORE-WILLIAMS is an attorney by profession. Originally from Guyana, she was called to the Guyana Bar 1991 and Bermuda Bar in May 2000. Since March 2003 she has been the Senior Legal Aid Counsel for the Legal Aid Office of the Bermuda Judiciary.ODESSA PHILIP, currently pursuing a degree in criminology, has served for more than seven years in the Bermuda Police Service. In her role she collaborates with community entities to ensure public safety, crime prevention, and protection of property and to reduce fear of crime for citizens and visitors alike.NORMA-JEAN RICHARDSON is currently working towards her Doctorate through Liberty University. She has a master’s degree in Cardiac Rehabilitation; BS, Physical Education and Health from Northeastern University. A teacher in the Bermuda education system for over 30 years, she is the wife of Roy Richardson, mother of two adult children; and among other things is a life coach in the Mirrors programme.STEPHANIE ROBINSON hails from Philadelphia, Maryland, where she enjoyed a successful career in the field of cardiovascular pharmaceuticals. She holds a BA in Communications from Morgan State University; and was the first person to earn the designation of SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist). She moved to Bermuda upon marriage to Sylvester Robinson. She is the spokesperson of Coldwell Banker’s Toys for Tots Drive that collected more than 1,200 toys for needy children.SHIRLEY SNAPE holds the LLM (International Law) with merit from the University of London and BA (Hons) Social Science from Westminster. She joined the firm of Appleby in February 2010, is currently executive secretary in the firm’s Insurance and Re-insurance Dispute Resolution and Insolvency Department.SHARIKA TUCCI earned a BSc in Actuarial Science from, The College of Insurance in New York after being awarded a four-year scholarship from XL Insurance. She’s the wife of Salvatore Tucci and mother of two daughters. In her church she is a leader and coach for young people. She said her reason for joining BPWA was based on a desire to give back to the community and have a positive impact on the lives of young women in Bermuda.TERRY VANALES-TATEM, the proud wife of George Tatem, came to Bermuda eight years ago with a background of more than 30 years’ experience in insurance underwriting in New York and Los Angeles. She is vice-president of Underwriting at Torus Bermuda Intermediaries.PATRICE PHILLIPS was inducted in absentia. She is currently completing a rotation in the Cayman Islands as a Bank of Butterfield management trainee. She earned a BA in Geography from York University last year. Before entering York she completed a one-year Rotary International Exchange Programme in Venezuela. In a video presentation, Patrice said she’s excited about seeing what BPWA has in store for her.
