The world may not yet have heard of the music group Victims of Existence but that may soon change.

Musicians Khari (Otis) Thornhill and John Eric Amaral have signed a digital distribution contract with SunToucher Entertainment in collaboration with Sony Music.

The group has an album, scheduled to be released on September 18.

They are already well known in Bermuda for their single with collaborators Ill Logical Linguistics. ‘A Place With A Vibe’ has been a chart topper on Hott 107.5 and Tha Underground Radio station.

The deal was arranged through their Bermuda managers Theresa and David Minors of PlayList Management.

The contract with Sony will allow the group to sell their music through digital download sites including iTunes, Rhapsody, BuyMusic, Emusic, the new Napster, AOL’s MusicNet and MusicMatch.

“When we told them they got the contract they were ecstatic,” said Mr Minors.

Added Mrs Minors: “This deal allows their music to gain international exposure and provides them the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

“The opportunity for their music to be heard and recognised beyond Bermuda is not only exciting but also shows the value of their talent.”

‘A Place With A Vibe’ has also been nominated for an award in the rap/hip hop category at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, a red-carpet style show with live music performances and celebrity appearances.

“Playlist has been in operation for four years,” said Mr Minors. “We have worked diligently to create artists for Bermudian and international artists.”

He and his wife also represent Ill Logical Linguistics as well as groups in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

“This is a first for Bermudian artists but we’ve brokered several deals for overseas artists,” he added.

Mr Thornhill and Mr Amaral formed Victims of Existence in 2002. A released party is planned for September 18. For more information e-mail playlistmanagement@gmail.com.
