This years annual Career Fair has been cancelled due to a lack of sponsor support
The 2012 Career Fair has been cancelled due to a lack of sponsors and financial backing.
Last month, we reported the Career Fair would need additional sponsors in order for the event to take place.
The Career Fair was scheduled to take place on the Bermuda College campus on October 18 and 19, but the events organisers tell The Royal Gazette they just werent able to raise enough funds to make it happen.
This would have been the eighth year of the Career Fair, which is geared at getting middle school and high school aged students thinking about what they want to do in the future and what theyll need to study to make that happen.
The Career Fair typically features 75 booths and gets anywhere from 2,000 to 2,500 students attending the two-day event.
Organisers say the committee cut the budget for this years event by more than $100,000, but that they still came up short of the funds needed.
