The Progressive Labour Party has reserved two blocks of Court Street around the party’s Alaska Hall headquarters for a public celebration of the election.

Court Street will be closed today to traffic, from Ewing to Elliott Street, between 3pm and midnight.

A City of Hamilton spokeswoman explained that the Corporation approves street parties once an organisation has obtained permission from police.

However, a spokesman for the PLP said an advertisement on Friday for an “election victory party” was erroneously worded by the Corporation of Hamilton.
