Ace Ltd, the insurer with operations here and in more than 50 nations, promoted Chris Maleno to division president of Ace USA, the US-based retail unit.Maleno joined the company in 2007 as president of Ace USA regional operations and brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the role, Zurich-based Ace said in a statement released yesterday by Business Wire.He will report to John Lupica, chairman of the North America insurance division.“Chris has made tremendous contributions to ACE since joining the company six years ago and has been a driving force in the growth and expansion of ACE USA’s products and services,” said Mr. Lupica.“He is an experienced and talented leader with a strong underwriting acumen well suited to lead the next phase of growth in our U.S. retail franchise.”Mr. Maleno was instrumental in driving the company’s customer and broker segmentation strategies, the statement said.He has served as division president, Ace Casualty Risk with responsibility for the profitable growth of Ace USA’s diverse casualty products including excess liability, construction, environmental and public entity.He was appointed COO of Ace USA in 2011
