This event will feature lots of family-friendly entertainment in Victoria Park from 3pm until 8pm, featuring mistress of ceremonies Power Girl with live music from Working Title, the Kennel Boys, Sonic Sanctuary and many more. As usual, there will be a children’ area with fun castles, face-painting, cotton candy and popcorn. If you don’t want to take your own picnic with you, there will be food vendors available. Admission is free.* The St. George’s Corporation Events Committee invites you to bring a blanket, beach chair and your family to their Movies on the Square event on Saturday, July 13th. From 6pm in King’s Square, there will be buskers and entertainers performing until the first movie starts at 8.30pm. The second movie will screen at 10.15pm. Food and snacks will be for sale in and around the square so you are encouraged to support our local restaurants. This event is free.* The Alliance Française des Bermudes invite you to dress in red, white and blue to celebrate Bastille Day, the French national day, with them at Bolero Brasserie on Saturday, July 13th. Dinner will begin at 7.15pm and Chef Jonny Roberts has designed a special menu for the evening with a choice of starters, main course and dessert. There will be music after dinner. The Groundswell Lionfish Tournament 2013 will be raising awareness while offering family-friendly fun on Saturday, July 20th (rain date July 21st). Festivities start at 2.30pm at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS) but participants in the tournament can start their culling as early as sun up. All fish will have to be at BIOS for the weigh in at 3pm. The Groundswell party will include live music, lionfish tasting, a Gosling’s bar, lionfish handling/cleaning demo, a bouncy castle, information kiosks, live lionfish viewing and more. Entry to the party is free but the tournament entry costs $25.
