Men accused of assaulting Paget resident

Two men denied assaulting and trying to rob a Paget resident in his home when they appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Curtis Hill, 25, and Erin Richardson, 28, are accused of committing the offence on November 30.

Both defendants elected to be tried in Magistrates’ Court.

Crown counsel Maria Sofianos told the court the complainant, Herman Santucci, had returned to his home to find Mr Hill, of Warwick, and Mr Richardson, of Southampton, in his kitchen.

A proposition was made to Mr Santucci, the court heard, which he declined.

He then asked Mr Hill and Mr Richardson to leave.

Mr Hill then allegedly grabbed Mr Santucci from behind while Mr Richardson covered his mouth and searched through his pockets before leaving.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released the two men on $2,000 bail with one surety each, and ordered a curfew be imposed on the defendants between 9pm and 6am.

They will be tried on January 10.
