Starring on Broadway

December 27, 2013

Dear Sir,

During a recent visit to New York City my wife and I had the opportunity to experience a show on Broadway which compels me to write this letter to the Editor.

The show was “Motown — The Musical” featuring an exceptionally talented young Bermudian, Nicholas Christopher, son of Hamilton Town Cryer (and a great entertainer in his own right), Ed Christopher.

Nick is making his debut on Broadway having studied at the Boston Conservatory and Juilliard School, and he performs brilliantly along with an excellent and talented cast who will have you wanting to jump out of your seats to the unforgettable sounds of Motown.

Literally everything about this production is first class, from the story about the founder of Motown, Berry Gordy, to the incredible performances by lead singers who dazzle us with the songs of Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, a young and sensational Michael Jackson (almost brought the house down), many of the top singing groups such as the Four Tops, the Temptations, Gladys Knight and the Pips, and of course, Diana Ross and the supreme Supremes.

We saw the show with a group of close friends and family, all of whom thought it was fabulous, and were fortunate to have great seats although there is nowhere in the theatre where you would not be blown away by this superb production.

For anyone in Bermuda planning a trip to the Big Apple I would urge you to see “Broadway — The Musical” and if anyone asks you why just let ‘em know, “I heard it through the Grapevine”!
