Pachecos celebrate first baby of 2014

It's A Girl! Farrah Natalia Kaye Pacheco 8 was delivered at 8:38 this morning weighing at 8lbs to new parents Tamika and Flavio Pacheco.

Bermuda's first baby of the new year, Farrah Natalia Kaye Pacheco, was delivered at 8.38am to Tamika and Flavio Pacheco — two days later than expected, and just in time for 2014.Cradling her sleeping 8lb little girl, a tired but beaming Mrs Pacheco told The Royal Gazette: “She's healthy, we're glad she's here — she's a bundle of joy.”Farrah is a first for the Warwick couple, Mr Pacheco said, adding: “I feel happy. Just to look at her makes me feel something I can't even explain. When I first heard her cry, it made me cry a few little tears. She is like an angel.”Their child was due on December 30, but Mrs Pacheco did not go into labour until 3am today — with her baby delivered by Caesarean section.She said she was “tired at the moment but really excited to have delivered a healthy baby”.“The process wasn't long but it was extremely tiring overall,” she said, “and she's a big baby.”As family gathered around the bedside at a room in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, Ms Pacheco said she was overjoyed that Farrah had made her debut as the year's first.“The whole hospital has been congratulating me,” she said.Ms Pacheco said she expected to be ready to go home in two days. Asked what they planned to do once they got back with Farrah, Ms Pacheco said: “Sleep.”
