The could have let the rest of us know

January 25, 2014

Dear Sir,

On December 5th I sent a package to my good friend Alison DeSilva for Christmas.

In it was wax candle cubes for her home and pictures of my family’s latest cruise to Bermuda in September 2013. Imagine my surprise when she called me and told me that Bermuda had new regulations regarding packages arriving on island & that said packages needed to have a receipt inside of them showing cost of gifts. I had filled out a customs form at my local post office in Kittery, Maine stating how much I had paid and contents.

How am I to be aware of this new regulation when I am not a resident of Bermuda! Was this information shared off island with everyone who sent such only to have them sitting in the local post offices being held hostage! I think my friend is entitled to her gift and so should everyone until the post offices are cleaned out of their contents.

Bermuda should make the rest of the world aware of new regulations and apologise to their residents for poor the handling and treatment of their residents.

Thank You.
