Stolen golf cart recovered but unusable

A golf cart stolen from Warwick Academy on Saturday was found yesterday, stuck in the mud on the railway tracks behind Spicelands Riding School.

But so much damage has been inflicted it will be no longer be drivable.

“The thieves must have flipped it at some point as the maintenance tools were found separate from the cart and the windshield had been ripped off,” said the school’s director of development Jane Vickers.

“They have burned the engine out so the cart is basically unusable. It’s very upsetting as it was an important part of our school maintenance department.”

The theft was reported in The Royal Gazette yesterday.

“Thanks to your article, we had several calls telling us where they had seen it,” added Ms Vickers.
