CellOne employees give CedarBridge students some food for thought on exam mornings

CellOne is generously providing breakfast to CedarBridge Academy students during the morning of exams in a programme they’ve named ‘Food for Thought’. The CellOne employees who participate all give time out of their busy schedules and come in early to serve the students breakfast which consists of to-go items like apples, oranges, bananas, granola bars, muffins, Go-Gurts and a selection of juice.

Also, if you come to the exams with no writing utensils you don’t have to worry because CellOne hands out a pen and a pencil tied together with a little “good luck” message to each student.

Kenneisha Tucker, a current S3 student said, “It’s a good thing because the exams cause students to rush in order to get to school so they may have no time to eat breakfast.” Another S1 student, Jada Simmons, added, “I think it was nice. I really enjoyed what they did. It was great that it was free.” Teachers had a positive outlook about the programme. Mr Dean Foggo, one of the business teachers, said, “The breakfast was excellent and the students appreciated CellOne’s generosity and hospitality. The feedback was all positive.”

The first time CellOne came, the students were surprised as they weren’t expecting it, but everyone was extremely thankful for what was presented to them. One teacher said, “It was wonderful to see so many students walking around peeling oranges and eating apples. Some of the students sat in the courtyards at the tables and a breakfast picnic.”

Rachel Rance, the HR director at CellOne, said, “It’s been a positive experience for everyone. The students at CedarBridge are polite and appreciative of the food that’s being offered. Even though the programme requires our employees to come in much earlier than they normally would, everyone looks forward to participating and meeting the students. Both the students and staff are incredibly welcoming.”

CellOne will visit again in March and then in June for the end-of-year exams.
