Put your best foot forward for Argus Walks the Walk
Hundreds will take to the streets on February 23 for the annual Argus Walks the Walk, in tandem with the Centre on Philanthropy.
Now in its fifth year, the 5K charity walk allows participants to choose which charity or non-profit benefits from the $25 entry fee — and calls on teams to dress in their best.
The marshalled event starts at 8.30am from the Wesley Street offices of Argus and the Centre on Philanthropy. Last year, 1,235 walkers took part in support of 118 charities.
The walk will end back on Wesley Street with prizes for the biggest corporate, youth and non-profit teams — and awards for the teams with the best coordinated outfits, the best choreography and the best cheer.
Twenty dollars from each entry goes to the chosen cause, and $5 supports the Centre’s online site for linking charities with volunteers, www.volunteer.bm.
To register, visit the Centre on Philanthropy or visit the site www.racedayworld.com. The deadline to sign up is 4pm on February 21.
