Devonshire Industries Ltd climbed 31.1 percent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading yesterday.

The owner of the Bermuda Paint Company, surged 95 cents, to close on $4 as 1,000 shares traded.

Butterfield Bank also had a good day as its shares rose five cents, or three percent, to end the day on $1.70, as 1,200 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 23.96 points, or 1.91 percent, to close on 1,279.71. Volume was 12,200 shares, while turnover totalled $117,650.

The BSX Insurance Index gained 19.65 points, or 1.45 percent, to close on 1,377.4.
