Orange juice and a $100 bill ... and a few other techniques to help you flourish

First Prev 1 2 Next Last
If you'd like more money to come your way try imagining money being cleansed by orange juice. It's one of the many fun techniques being taught in the upcoming Flourish Intensive Workshops for women this Saturday.

If you need more money in your life, imagine a crystal glass of orange juice. Then, imagine a $100 bill being cleansed in the orange juice.

The idea is to help you see money as not something dirty, but something cleansed. We mentally repel things we see as dirty, therefore, logically, if we think money is clean it will come to us. If the money doesn’t come immediately, the pleasant reverie of $100 bathing in orange juice should at least make you feel happy.

The orange juice exercise is one of a variety of techniques being taught in a Flourish Intensive workshop for women being held this weekend. Flourish Intensive was the brainchild of Aderonke Bademosi, who wanted to help women in Bermuda find greater happiness and effectiveness in the community. She co-created Flourish Intensive with Enda Mathie, Frances Marshall, and Rochelle Simons.

The orange juice exercise is part of a workshop segment being taught by Ms Mathie called I Feel Good. She is a certified Life Coach, and the founder and executive director of I SurrEnda, a personal development company.

“I truly believe that thoughts are things,” said Ms Mathie. “I believe that when you feel good about yourself you are more productive. There are ways that you can really hone in on that, no matter what is going on in your space. I am going to start my segment with a very juicy, yummy, warm feeling of nurturing. I want people who take the workshop to feel replenished. I currently teach tools, fun quirky things, you can use to bring yourself back to centre.”

Ms Bademosi said Flourish Intensive was a wonderful opportunity for women in Bermuda to grow.

“This is an opportunity to experience some wonderful things together and then take some new skills into the home, community and workplace,” she said. “It is just one way of us being able to ensure our community moves forward in a healthy manner. The day will be full of soul enriching, inspiring and delightful moments. We will experience the dynamic power of women and the value of the power of our connection with each other.”

She will be teaching a workshop portion on appreciative inquiry, this is problem solving using a positive outlook. You look at what is going right rather than what is going wrong, and build on that.

Francis Marshall, a Reiki II practitioner and founder and director of The Yoga Centre (Bermuda), will kick off the day with a yoga class that will take participants through various development stages in early childhood.

“These development patterns are learning patterns,” said Ms Marshall. “Each one is an important step towards the next one, as we stand up and look out at the world. We will explore the whole process of becoming aware of ourselves as individuals and becoming aware of our bodies and breathing for ourselves. There is some exciting stuff that will open up in this workshop.”

Rochelle Simons will be giving a session on the power of listening. She is a Lead Coach and Licensed Facilitator with Imagine a Woman International.

“Our listening style develops from early in our lives,” she said. “It is subliminal. My session will create an opportunity for women to identify some of the styles they use and start to live from a more respectful and more authentic place deep within ourselves. This is so that we bring forward in this life more positive and more fulfilling opportunities to support ourselves and help this country to move forward. This is important for me as a woman because I believe our untapped resourcefulness and power is not really expressing itself to the fullest.”

The Flourish Intensive will be held on Saturday from 9am to 6pm at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club on Pomander Road in Paget. Tickets are $150 for the day and include lunch and snacks. Tickets are available by e-mailing flourishbermuda@gmail.com or by calling 703-2808.
