MSA’s Black History Month display features interactive journey on Underground Railroad

Tomorrow will see Mount Saint Agnes Academy’s auditorium transformed into a museum display in celebration of Black History Month.

Hosted by eighth grade English Language Arts students, the museum will house everything from story quilts to live wax figures to a life size wagon, with a special tribute planned for the day.

Harriet Tubman will even be on hand to escort visitors through an interactive journey on the Underground Railroad.

There will be exhibits on display by students from Grades 5 — 10 for the one day extravaganza, which will include collaborative peace wreaths, a Nelson Mandela tribute, a sports hall of fame and a series of featured inventions by black inventors.

The museum promises to be a dynamic approach to learning about the rich diversity of Black History.

The public is encouraged to visit the Museum for guided tours from 9 — 10am. The museum will remain open for viewing until 2pm.
