A former Government Minister has apologised to MPs for “unparliamentary” language during a Budget debate on Monday.

OBA MP Sylvan Richards apologised to Speaker Randy Horton and the House after Mr Horton pulled him up for a comment directed at an Opposition member.

Mr Richards, who withdrew the remark, added: “It will not happen again.”

Earlier, Mr Horton told the House: “I met with the Honourable Member for Hamilton South Sylvan Richards with regard to remarks he made on Monday.

“I have given the Honourable Member a warning over his conduct, which “ran afoul” of rules on Parliamentary conduct and which “tends to bring the House into disrepute.”
