Dear Sir,

Everyone understands the reason for installing speed bumps. There has to be some deterrent as the Police have abdicated responsibility for controlling the behaviour of road users. However, there have been several incidents that have resulted in personal injury and damage to vehicles and property because the speed bumps are not noticeable, particularly at night.

I am making a plea to both Works & Engineering and Public Safety Ministry to improve the visibility of speed bumps before someone loses their life. I am not going to call on action to be taken without offering possible solutions to consider so here goes:

* Use of highly reflective paint and/or

* Flashing lights.
