There’s no excuse

April 1, 2014

Dear Sirs,

On March 18, 2014 at around lunch time I paid for an air mail stamp and mailed a letter to New York City from the Warwick post office. It was a thank-you note for dinner that past Saturday night. Today is a full two weeks later. I’m back in NYC and the thank you note has yet to arrive. How embarrassing! The people I had dinner with will think that I’m terribly rude that I’m back in NYC before having sent them a thank-you note for dinner.

Is this your plan? Deliver such a poor service so that none of your customers is ever tempted to use you again? Next time, I will bring the note to NYC myself and mail it there — or just send flowers. There can be no reasonable excuse for taking in excess of 14 days to deliver an airmail letter (with the correct postage on it and correctly addressed) from Bermuda to NYC. Forty years ago the service was better than this!

UTTERLY DISGUSTED
