First cruise ship is due

Due today::The Explorer of the Seas

The first cruise ship of the 2014 season is expected to arrive in Dockyard this morning.

Making its first of 27 scheduled visits, The Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas is scheduled to arrive at King’s Wharf at around 8am and leave tomorrow afternoon.

In total, this year the Island is scheduled to see 104 visits from regular callers and 27 visits from occasional callers like the Splendor and Vision of the Seas.

And the Ministry of Tourism Development and Transport has forecast a year-on-year increase in cruise ship visitors, with around 356,000 passengers arriving on the Island before the season ends in December.
