The Holland America cruise ship Nieuw Amsterdam will make an emergency call on local waters this morning to drop off a sick passenger.

The vessel, on way from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to the Azores, is expected to transfer the 82-year-old around 10am at the Sea Buoy off the East End, according to Bermuda Maritime Operations.

Meanwhile, the 90,000-ton Norwegian registered tanker Suez Boston is due to divert to within five miles of the Island for a crew transfer.
