What’s next?

April 14, 2014

Dear Sir,

After 20 years we’ve had a Dolphin Quest, people overseas suddenly want Bermuda to shut it down, a tourist attraction (it’s bad enough many clothes stores don’t exist anymore). Here’s something most haven’t noticed so far:

1. Bermuda is the only country, that has a mall that closes at 5pm (some countries can’t afford a mall but that’s besides the point as, let’s focus on the ones that can for now).

2. Bermuda hasn’t had a Store of Reliability for more than a year, for any young or teen girl (schoolwear/regular clothes).

3. Bermuda hasn’t had a Boy’s Town for more than a year, for any young or teen boy (schoolwear/regular clothes).

4. Bermuda hasn’t had a Trimingham’s or a Smith’s in more than a year.

5. Bermuda hasn’t had a Archie Brown & Son, selling vintage Shetland cardigans with fisheye buttons for middle age & ‘oldie goldie’ women.

6. Marks & Spencer hasn’t sold any crew neck cardigans with fisheye buttons, for young girls in more than a year now.

7. English Sports Shop might still be selling schoolwear and, children are buying them but, they’re forced to buy them (no other style cardigan in the store unless it’s a size 42/size 44 in grey and in green only). Charles Kirk isn’t as interested in the old style fisheye button look as, they were in the past (although that’s still popular in the UK, Scotland/Wales).

8. Pirate’s Port isn’t that popular unless a girl attends Harrington Sound I guess.

Many other changes plus not a lot of things to do or even buy any more in Bermuda and yet they want to shutdown a tourist attraction, just because it’s captured dolphins (what next, no more zoo/aquarium?).
