Riders set for final warm-up

The Island’s cyclists will get one final competitive workout ahead of next weekend’s Grand Prix when they take part in tomorrow’s Tokio Millennium Re road race from John Smith’s Bay.

The adult A competitors will complete six laps of the course, covering 41.4 miles while the B riders will do five laps, 34.5 miles, and the C riders four laps, 27.5 miles.

Racing starts at 7.45am with the junior B and riders with the adult A going off at 8.10am, the adult B at 8.15 and the adult C at 8.20am. Women and juniors a will leave at 8.25am with the women doing four laps and the juniors three laps.

From John Smith’s Bay, the riders will head east to Paynter’s Road, turn left and continue on Harrington Sound Road to Flatts, turning left up Flatts Hill and turn left onto Vermont Road and then left on St Mark’s Road. At South Shore turn left and return to John Smith’s Bay.
