Dear Sir,

May I vent a little frustration about the cable provider we currently endure here in Bermuda?

On Saturday night I got home at 10pm and immediately switched to channel 351 to catch up with the football played in England. Advertised was Saturday Preview, a programme showing the results of football played in England. Lo and behold there was a show on wine in Chile, not my beloved Premiership football.A little annoyed I switched to channel 22 ESPN, to watch Italian football as advertised, to get my football fix.

Again, what was advertised was not shown, instead basketball was on. Finally, I went to cable channel 20 to watch Anthony Bourdain as advertised, and some other show was on. At least that annoying musical interlude showing the weather and currencies in other countries was off for a few seconds.

Disgusted, I went to bed.

How is it that on many channels we pay for, the shows advertised are not the ones shown? Can an explanation beforthcoming, or better still, the shows advertised be the ones we can watch?

P.S. Today I waited to watch the Man Utd v Everton game. Guess what? Due to technical difficulties we are unable to bring the match! I asked myself, why do I pay for cable? Then I remembered, the World Cup is coming.
