Bus and ferry workers will meet tomorrow to discuss Government’s plans to make public transport an essential service.

The meeting for unionised staff from the Departments of Public Transport and Marine and Ports will mean a reduced bus and no ferry service between 10.30am to noon, according to a Ministry of Tourist Development and Transport spokesman.

He said: “Services are expected to resume at the conclusion of the meeting.”

* A new summer ferry service will begin next Monday.
