Free entry to Island attractions

The Martello tower at Ferry Reach is among attractions that will be free to visitors.

Attractions across the Island will be offering free entry tomorrow as part an initiative celebrating Heritage Month.

The Bermuda National Museum in Dockyard and Fort St Catherine’s will both be open to visitors for free between 10am and 4pm on Saturday as part of a joint project between the Department of Planning and the Ministry of Community, Culture and Sports.

Heritage Officer Richard Lowry will also be leading a special tour of the Casemates Barracks, starting from the western bastion wall opposite the High Cave Magazine in the National Museum starting at 1.30pm.

Westover Farms in Sandys, the Cathedral in Hamilton, Bermuda National Trust’s Devondale in Devonshire and Martello tower in Ferry Reach will all also be open for public tours.

A Ministry spokeswoman said: “Members of the public are encouraged to participate in the tours of these treasured and unique sites, some of which are not often open to the public.”
