AF Smith, a provider of office products, technology and services, has made five posts redundant as the company undergoes restructuring.

Two non-Bermudians and three Bermudians were affected.

Tim Smith, chief executive officer at AF Smith, said yesterday: “I can confirm that we recently made five posts redundant.”

He explained: “Following an extensive review of our operations, we are embarking on a restructuring that will inevitably make us more efficient and, therefore, more responsive to customers’ needs.”

Mr Smith described last year, 2013, as a “growth year,” but said: “ ... we are not yet where we want to be. The company sees growth opportunities on which it intends to capitalise, but painful changes are necessary as we transform to the new structure.

He added: “I am grateful for the service provided by the affected employees and wish them well.”
