Somers Ltd shares climbed 3.6 percent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.

Somers, the owner of Bermuda Commercial Bank, closed up 50 cents at a new 52-week high of $14.25 as 1,400 shares traded.

Butterfield Bank remained unchanged on $1.99 as 31,652 of its shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 2.99 points, or 0.21 percent, to 1,414.3. Volume was 33,052 shares, while turnover was just shy of $83,000.

The BSX Insurance Index gained 2.65 points, or 0.18 percent, to close the week on 1,454.17.
