Two lawyers have joined Marshall Diel & Myers Ltd as associates.

Bermudian John Hindess joined the firm as an associate in the Litigation & Advice group, while Alma Dismont joined as an associate in the Matrimonial & Family group.

Managing director Kevin Taylor said: “John and Alma are valuable additions to the team. In addition to enhancing our ability to serve our growing client base, the firm is continuing its commitment to develop the future of the Bermuda Bar and the next generation of Bermudian lawyers. We look forward to supporting Alma and John as they develop their respective practices within the firm.”

Born and raised in Bermuda, Mr Hindess recently returned from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where he trained and worked for three years.

He gained considerable litigation experience making appearances in all levels of Court in British Columbia including the BC Court of Appeal.

In his early practice, he gained a broad experience in contract and commercial litigation with an emphasis on construction law.

As his practice developed, John expanded his experience and knowledge with a wider variety of litigation matters including civil, family, privacy, health, employment and administrative law.

Ms Dismont moved to Bermuda with her Bermudian husband after attending the University of Law. She completed her pupillage in Bermuda and was called to the Bermuda Bar in 2013. During her training and when commencing her practice, she was exposed to all areas of practice in a busy litigation practitioner’s chambers where she gained experience litigating civil and matrimonial cases before the Magistrates’ Court and the Supreme Court.

As part of the Matrimonial and Family group, Ms Dismont undertakes all aspects of family and matrimonial work.
