KeyTech gains 10%

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index finished flat last week, despite a busy week of trading.

The biggest mover was KeyTech Ltd, which gained 10 percent. The parent company of Bermuda Telephone Company and Logic Communications gained 45 cents during the five days of trading to close on $4.95 on the trading of 19,000 shares.

Fellow utility Ascendant Group Ltd also advanced, climbing 24 cents, or 3.4 percent, to close on $7.25 as 16,300 shares traded.

Insurers had a bad week, with Argus Group Holdings Ltd falling 5.3 percent and BF&M Ltd tumbling 4.1 percent.

Argus slid 25 cents to close on $4.50 as 5,000 shares changed hands, while BF&M fell 74 cents to $17.26 as 1,615 shares traded.

Butterfield Bank remained rooted on $1.99 as 42,330 shares traded, but the bank’s preference shares fell by 26 cents to $1,179.05, as 76 shares traded.

The Index fell 1.95 points, or 0.13 percent during the week to close on 1,412.35. Volume topped 108,000 shares while turnover topped $687,000.
