Law firm Marshall Diel & Myers offer scholarship for law studies

Marshall Diel & Myers Limited are offering an annual scholarship, the law firm has announced.

In a press release, they said: “We are committed to developing the future of the Bermuda Bar by offering an annual scholarship to encourage and support Bermudian students interested in studying the law.

“Our goal is to work with students to assist in their development as the next generation of lawyers, not only to benefit the firm but also the Bermuda Bar.”

MDM added: “Our summer and pupillage programmes provide us with further opportunities to lay the foundation for students’ future legal careers.”

“We are searching for candidates who excel academically and are personable, assured and have the ability to service our clients’ needs with the highest level of competence.

“They will be focused, intelligent and possess an excellent academic record.

“All candidates must be committed to returning to Bermuda to practice law and contribute in the ongoing development of the Bermuda Bar. Our aim is to provide a worthy applicant with the opportunity to achieve his or her goal of becoming an attorney and member of the Bermuda Bar.

“We are seeking to make an investment today to assist in developing tomorrow’s leaders of Bermuda’s legal community”, confirmed Kevin Taylor, managing director.

“As the award winner may be given the opportunity to pupil and start their legal career with us, the Committee is seeking a bright, driven and personable young law student who is on the path to becoming a solid contributor to the legal fraternity in Bermuda.

“As an advocacy Firm, we will also be looking for a candidate that is well-spoken, confident, and able to convey their views in a clear and effective manner.”

The deadline for applications for the Legal Scholarship Award is the July 1, 2014.
