Somerset Bridge beat Western Stars by 17 runs in their top-of-the table clash at White Hill Field, despite a knock of 77 from Wendell White, the Stars player-coach, on his debut.

Bridge posted 200 with Donnie Charles scoring 50 from nine fours and Shaun Riley 46 in the tailend as they recovered from 127-8. Three Stars bowlers took three wickets apiece; Seth Campbell for 39, Naquan Smith for 35 and Brian Hall, the captain for the day, for 32 runs.

In reply, Stars fell just short on 183 with White batting for 149 minutes and hitting four fours and three sixes off 103 balls. Seth Campbell scored 21. Derek Hill claimed three for 23, Noel Woods three for 46, and Donnie Charles two for 54.

Flatts beat Devonshire Rec by five wickets at St David’s, dismissing Rec for just 126 in 30 overs and then reaching 128-5 in 25 overs. Kijuan Franks did the bowling damage for Flatts, claiming six for 29 from seven overs as Steven Bremar scored 36 for Rec while Paul Carr-Harvey and Demar Johnson contributed 21 apiece.

Captain Cofield Robinson led the Flatts run chase with 54 off eight fours as Carr-Harvey took three for 39 and Sean DeGraff two for 26.

Bermuda Under-17 garnered their second win of the season with a nail-biting two wicket victory over Warwick at St John’s Field on Saturday.

Set a total of 192 to chase, the youngsters rallied from 14 for two to record victory based on a solid 44 runs by Freeman Lima at No 4 and 35 from the bat of LJ Richardson coming in at seven.

Sanjay Dill was tortuous with the ball, seizing five for 33 from his 10 overs, while Cameron Jeffers took three for 44 with his leg spin.

Earlier Warwick owed their total of 192 to a sparkling 86 from Jade Darrell and a useful 22 from Chris Kawaley, as few others could stand up to the offerings of the Bermuda Under-17 attack. Shaquille Outerbridge and Nzari Paynter each took three wickets for the home team while Micah Simons claimed two for 34.
