The nineteen concept allows a person to rent a desk or a small office within an overall office complex. The nineteen space on Queen Street is home to six businesses ranging from dry wallers to brokers.

Rent includes internet access, printing, faxing, photocopying, cleaning, use of a kitchen, use a conference room, and all furniture is supplied.

The new space on Burnaby Street will operate in the same way. It is also much larger and able to accommodate businesses ranging in size from sole proprietors to medium-sized enterprises.

“I have noticed, or read about, a lot of small businesses opening in Bermuda whether it is coffee shops or small hedge funds. I believe that concepts like nineteen can help nurture new start-ups, it a space that acts almost like a small business incubator.

“In the short space of time nineteen has existed, I have seen business based there doing very well indeed and the level of entrepreneurship is outstanding.”
