Rudy Smith: missing for two years

Rudolph "Rudy" Smith has been missing for two years.

Two years ago this week Rudy Smith was seen walking in the Deepdale area of Pembroke. He has not been seen or heard from since. The investigation, however, continues.

Only his motorcycle, discovered in the waters off North Shore near Grace Church in Pembroke, has been found during the subsequent investigation which continues to this day, under the supervision of the Senior Investigating Officer, Acting Detective Chief Inspector Greenidge.

Mr Greenidge updated the public on that investigation last night, appealing to residents for “key” information that might lead officers in the Serious Crime Unit a little closer to closing the book on “this senseless crime”. “We know people saw what happened and are certain that the public does not want those responsible to get away with it,” said Mr Greenidge. “We recognise that people may be reluctant to provide information so we encourage the use of the confidential Crime Stoppers Hotline. What if this was your brother, son, uncle, friend or mate?

“I am appealing directly to these people that know something, to help bring closure to the friends and family of Mr Smith.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Serious Crime Unit in confidence at 247-1185, or alternatively to call the confidential and anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 800-8477.
