Training meeting

The National Training Board and the Department of Workforce Development will be hosting a town-hall meeting next week on the National Training Plan.

The meeting, set to take place on Wednesday at the Cathedral Hall in Hamilton, will detail the plan’s recommendations to create job opportunities for Bermudians and decrease the reliance on overseas labour. Several members of the National Training Board will take part in the meeting as panellists.

Among the suggestions in the plan are expanding entry level positions like internships and apprenticeships, better highlighting career pathways in industries such as hospitality and implementing grassroots trade education in schools.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5.30pm and conclude at around 7pm.
